The kick-off meeting of the Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Research and Innovation Staff Exchange project ‘ChiplEss MultisEnsor Rfid for GrEen NeTworks (EMERGENT) was held on January 23rd 2015. The event took place in the premises of the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Pisa (Italy) – Coordinator of the project.
EMERGENT activities, officially started on January 1st 2015, focus on the intersectoral mobility dimension, based on the exchange of staff between academia and SMEs. With a budget of 913,500 Euros over 36 months, EMERGENT brings together six partners from three EU countries: University of Pisa – Department of Information Engineering (Pisa, Italy), Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Italy), Grenoble Institute of Technology – LCIS Lab (Valence Cedex, France), Consortium Ubiquitous Technologies Scarl (Cascina, Italy), Generation RFID SL (Sant Cugat Sesgarrigues, Spain), ARDEJE Sarl (Valence, France).
EMERGENT project aims to realize a new class of chipless RFID tags and sensors moving from conventional sensors towards next generation pervasive interconnected systems by employing environmental-friendly substrates such as paper and low-cost printing process.
